When most people think of platform games, they think of Super Mario. It’s no wonder why; the franchise has been around for over three decades and is one of the most popular and well-known in the gaming world. But before Super Mario was the household name it is today, there was Super Mario Land 2 – 6 Golden Coins.

Super Mario Land 2 – 6 Golden Coins (V1.2) was released in 1992 for the Game Boy and was developed and published by Nintendo. The game centers around Mario’s quest to overthrow the evil Wario, who has taken over Mario Land and imprisoned Mario’s Banana Bunch friends. To do this, Mario must gather six Golden Coins which will allow him to enter Wario’s castle and defeat him.

The game was a critical and commercial success, selling over eight million copies worldwide. It has been praised for its graphics, gameplay, and innovation; in fact, many consider it to be one of the best platform games ever made. One of the things that makes Super Mario Land 2 – 6 Golden Coins so special is its use of power-ups.
