Wario Land 4 is a sidescrolling platform game for the Game Boy Advance. It was first released in Japan on December 2, 2002, and later released in North America on February 24, 2003. The game was published by Nintendo and developed by Treasure. It is the fourth installment in the Wario Land series, and follows Wario as he tries to save his friend Princess Peach from Bowser, who has kidnapped her along with Mario and Luigi. Along the way, Wario visits various different lands, each with its own theme and obstacles.

Wario Land 4 features similar gameplay to that of earlier games in the series. Wario can jump and ground-pound to attack enemies and break blocks. He can also pick up objects and throw them at enemies or use them as weapons. In addition to this, Wario has a new ability exclusive to this game; after eating a Garlic Manicotti from Mamma Mia’s Pizzeria (a new food establishment in this game), Wario turns into metal form for a short period of time. In metal form, Wario is invulnerable to most attacks but cannot move; he can only turn around if he is against a wall. Many of the levels feature branching paths which allow players to choose between two different routes. There are also four hidden treasures which can be collected by completing specific tasks such as finding all coins in a level or defeating every enemy without taking damage.
