Grand Theft Auto – Liberty City Stories ROM PSP is an action-adventure game set in the fictional Liberty City. The game is played from a third-person perspective and its world is navigated on foot or by vehicle. Players control the three lead protagonists throughout single-player and switch between them both during and outside of missions. The game features an open-world environment that allows players to interact with the game world at their leisure.

The game’s combat system centers around gunplay, and hand-to-hand combat, allowing players to use firearms, explosives, and melee weapons to fight enemies, and can also be used to drive vehicles. The game also introduces a new wanted system that tracks the player’s criminal activities on a wanted level meter. If the player attains a high  wanted level, the police will search for them actively.

The game also features a number of side missions, which are not required to complete the game, but do provide rewards for the player. These include taxis, firefighting, vigilante missions, and pimping. There are also a number of minigames that the player can participate in  to earn additional money.
