As the story progresses, the Avatar meets other characters, including Chrom, prince of the Halidom of Ylisse, and his personal bodyguard, Frederick. The game’s main characters are divided into two armies: the “Shepherds”, who fight for Chrom and Ylisse, and the “Outrealm Warriors”, who are mercenaries hired by Validar, the leader of Rigel.
