Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII is a 2007 action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for the PlayStation Portable. The game is a prequel to the 1997 video game Final Fantasy VII and is a part of the metaseries Compilation of Final Fantasy VII, which includes other products related to the original game.
Crisis Core – Final Fantasy VII follows the story of Zack Fair, a young member of the paramilitary organization SOLDIER who becomes involved in the events leading up to the original game’s climax. The game’s development was inspired by fan feedback requesting a return to the style of gameplay featured in earlier entries in the Final Fantasy series.
The game uses a new real-time battle system called “Command Synergy Battle” (CSB). Crisis Core is the first game in the series to use this system, which allows players to issue commands to their party members in real-time. The game also features a “Materia” system, which allows players to customize their characters’ abilities.
