The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass ROM is an action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo DS handheld game console. The game was released in Japan in 2006, and in North America and PAL regions the following year.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass is the fourteenth main installment of The Legend of Zelda series. It is a direct sequel to The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, which was released for the GameCube in 2003. The game’s story follows that of its predecessor, with Link setting out on a journey to find Tetra, the pirate captain who saved him ten years prior. However, Link must first save her from a group of pirates called the Ghost Ships before he can reach her.
The game uses a top-down perspective similar to that seen in previous Zeldas such as A Link to the Past and The Wind Waker; however, it also incorporates new elements not seen before in the series. One such element is the use of the stylus on the Nintendo DS’s touch screen for various actions, such as cutting grass, solving puzzles, and Battling enemies. Another new feature is the inclusion of time travel; after completing certain temples, Link is sent back in time to revisit past events with his newly acquired knowledge and items.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass received critical acclaim upon release, with many reviewers praising the use of the stylus and touch screen controls. The game sold over three million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling games on the Nintendo DS.
