Sengoku 3 ROM is a 2001 run and gun video game developed by SNK for the Neo-Geo platform. It is the sequel to the 1999 game Sengoku 2, which was released for the Neo-Geo MVS arcade system.
The game was ported to the Neo-Geo AES home console in 2002, and later to the Neo-Geo CD in 2003. It was also released for the Wii Virtual Console in 2008, and for the PlayStation 2 in 2010.
The storyline of Sengoku 3 is set during Japan’s Warring States period, with players taking control of one of four main protagonists: Naoe Kanetsugu, Keiji Maeda, Date Masamune, or Sanada Yukimura. The game’s plot revolves around the protagonists’ efforts to stop the demon king Orochi from resurrecting, and subjugating the world.
The game is a side-scrolling run and gun shooter, in which players must progress through stages, defeating enemies and bosses along the way. Players have access to a variety of weapons, including handguns, swords, and spears; as well as special abilities that can be used to defeat enemies.
Sengoku 3 was generally well-received by critics upon its release; with praise directed at its graphics, gameplay, and soundtrack. However, some reviewers criticized its difficulty level, stating that it was too easy for experienced players. Nevertheless, the game was commercially successful, selling over 200,000 copies in Japan.

In particular, its stage design and enemy placements have been praised for their originality and challenge. The game has also been included in several “Best Of” lists compiled by various publications.
