Pokemon Unite Celebrates Its First Anniversary With New Pokemon, Bonuses and More
It’s been one year since the Pokemon MOBA spinoff Pokemon Unite launched on Nintendo Switch, and the game is kicking off a special anniversary event.
The celebration is planned to begin July 21, with login bonuses, new playable Pokemon, and other in-game goodies.
The first new Pokémon to appear in the game will be Glaceon, which will arrive on July 21. Buzzwole and Tyranitar, two more Pokemon, will follow on Aug. 3 and 15, respectively. Starting in September, three additional unannounced creatures will join the fray.
In addition, the game will give away Unite Licenses and Holowear as log-in bonuses throughout the event period. For every hour you play the game, you’ll earn up to five Pokémon (and an alternate skin for each) free:
-
Day 1: Pikachu and Fashionable Style Pikachu.
-
Day 2: Lucario and Concert Style Lucario.
-
Day 3: Blastoise and Firefighter Style Blastoise.
-
Day 4: Snorlax and Bedtime Style Snorlax.
-
Day 5: Sylveon and Checkered Style Sylveon.
Players who already own any of the Pokemon or Holowear will instead get 100 Aeos coins. In addition, the game will include a PvE Boss Rush mode as well as an Anniversary Cake Challenge. You’ll be able to earn frosting by logging in and battling during the event, which you can use to finish the anniversary cake and obtain goodies.
Players who haven’t logged in for at least two weeks are eligible to receive further bonuses for playing during the anniversary event. For further information, please visit nintendo.com.
