I’ve got you covered whether you’re new to Apple Arcade or if you’ve gone through your favorites and find yourself in a gaming rut. Here are my recommendations for the various genres, which I will update as new games are released and old favorites are eliminated:

Action

Game: Sayonara Wild Hearts

Developer: Annapurna Interactive

Sayonara Wild Hearts on Apple Arcade

Why you’ll love it: At the debut of Apple Arcade, Sayonara Wild Hearts was available. The award-winning game combines music and motorbike racing for a fast-paced, colorful adventure. Every race and conflict in the game is presented in vivid color and accompanied by entertaining pop electronica songs.

You might also enjoy: Alto’s Adventures, Alto’s Odyssey, and Air Twister are the three games in the franchise.

Adventure

Game: The Pathless

Developer: Annapurna Interactive

The Pathless on Apple Arcade.

Why you’ll love it: The Pathless was one of the most anticipated Apple Arcade titles, and it’s one of my all-time favorites. You play as the last Hunter, a veiled young woman with archery abilities who must go to a mystical cursed island inhabited by wicked spirits. You must combat evil alongside an eagle companion in order to restore light.

You might also enjoy: Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm, Baldo, and Beyond a Steel Sky is interesting.

Board game

Game: Mahjong Titan

Developer: Kristanix Games

Mahjong on Apple Arcade

Why you’ll love it: On Windows, I used to play dozens of different Mahjong games. The game is just as enjoyable on Apple Arcade, with bright tiles, pleasant sound effects and a relaxing soundtrack. The boards get harder as you go on, and there are additional challenges for those who want an extra challenge.

You might also enjoy: Solitaire, Backgammon and Chess

Card game

Game: Solitaire Stories

Developer: Red Games

Solitaire Stories on Apple Arcade.

Why you’ll love it: Solitaire Stories is the game I play on Apple Arcade most frequently. It strikes a good balance between lighthearted story and casual classic gameplay. One of my favorite aspects of Solitaire on Windows was being able to customize the deck themes. New decks and stories are released frequently in one Solitaire Stories, and winning hands unlock new decks and stories.

Casual

Game: Nuts

Developer: Noodlecake

Nuts on Apple Arcade.

Why you’ll love it: In this squirrel mystery game, the Melmoth Forest squirrel population has grown increasingly odd, and it’s up to you as a field researcher to figure out what’s going on. Nuts appears to be a lighthearted spinoff of Firewatch from Campo Santo. In conjunction with the drama of the nights ticking by and the humor of potentially malevolent squirrels, Noodlecake strikes a balance.

Family game

Game: Alba: A Wildlife Adventure

Developer: Ustwo Games

Alba: Wildlife Adventure on Apple Arcade

Why you’ll love it: The game is about a young girl named Alba who goes to stay with her grandparents on a Mediterranean island for the summer. She begins to explore, and she notices that trash is everywhere, putting indigenous animals in danger. With the support of her bird-nerd grandfather and Ines, Alba begins a grassroots movement to restore the island. The more people you enlist as volunteers, the more favorable your effort will be, therefore you must persuade Islanders to join your cause. This game offers a new perspective on why it is critical to preserve the environment while also being an entertaining method for children to learn about it.

Puzzle game

Game: Frogger and the Rumbling Ruins

Developer: Konami

Frogger and the Rumbling Ruins on Apple Arcade.

Why you’ll love it: Frogger goes on a journey to discover the treasury of an ancient frog tribe. He’ll have to master 100 levels of clever environmental puzzles, with the aid of his pals. When you complete levels successfully and with curiosity, the game is more forgiving. The more you adjust and examine the level, the higher your earnings will be.

Racing game

Game: Warped Kart Racers

Developer: Electric Square Ltd.

Stewie from Family Guy racing on a blue track with iconic show characters in the background

Why you’ll love it: Warped Kart Racers is a fantastic and addictive game. Pitting your favorite TV show characters against each other lap after lap is both amusing and enjoyable. This game will reveal to you how Peter Griffin from Family Guy and Hank Hill from King of the Hill would interact if they were real people.

You might also enjoy: The latest releases include Sonic Racing, Gear.Club Stradale, and Asphalt 8: Airborne.

Role-playing Game

Game: Fantasian

Developer: Mistwalker

Fantasian on Apple Arcade.

Why you’ll love it: Fantasian is one of the most popular games on Apple Arcade. In a post-apocalyptic world dominated by machines, Leo sets out on a mission to discover his father’s whereabouts with only one clue: A recurring vision of a young lady. When he reaches En, a dirty mining town in the middle of nowhere, he encounters Kina, the woman from his dream. If that isn’t enough for you, Hironobu Sakaguchi, creator of Final Fantasy fame, created the game.

Game: Cozy Grove

Developer: Spry Fox

Cozy Grove on Apple Arcade.

Why you’ll love it: Imagine if Animal Crossing was haunted. In the game, you’re a Spirit Scout who must bring peace to the adorably haunted island of Cozy Grove as a Spirit Scout. Explore the island, gather resources and make items to survive, tend your fire — Flamey — and try to assist confused forest spirits. The more you aid, the more the environment improves – becoming colorized and flowers develop.

Sports game

Game: What the Golf

Developer: Triband

What the Golf on Apple Arcade.

Why you’ll love it: What the Golf is a fun and entertaining game for everyone, regardless of your skill level. It’s not the most accurate sports game; nevertheless, I was in stitches when I first played What the Golf. The physics-based parod ygame is designed for those without prior experience of real golfing. Each stage gets increasingly ludicrous: from putting a standard white ball around a course of trees to placing a tree around a series of bombs. Nothing is off limits, and boredom is nearly impossible.

Strategy game

Game: Mini Motorways

Developer: Dinosaur Polo Club

Mini Motorways on Apple Arcade.

Why you’ll love it: Mini Motorways is a straightforward approach to constructing road networks. The game gets easier as it goes, but don’t get too comfortable linking facilities to roads. You’ll need to build bridges, ramps, traffic lights, and other elements as the game progresses. Plan ahead or you’ll be stuck in traffic.

Tiny Crossword on Apple Arcade.

Why you’ll love it: If you’re scared of the huge crosswords in papers, this game is a great place to start. Begin with small puzzles and gradually work your way up to larger challenges. You’ll be ready to tackle The New York Times’ Sunday riddle like an expert soon enough.
