Street Fighter 3 ROM ( Street Fighter III: New Generation ( ストリートファイターⅢ ニュージェネレーション) is a 2D competitive fighting game released on February 15, 1997. The game was produced by Capcom and developed by its subsidiary, Capcom Production Studio 1. It is the third game in the Street Fighter series and the sequel to Street Fighter II. Street Fighter III introduces a number of gameplay changes over its predecessors. Most significantly, it drops the character roster down to only ten playable fighters, all of whom are new to the Street Fighter universe with the exception of returning veteran Chun-Li. Street Fighter III also adds several new gameplay mechanics not seen in previous games in the series such as  Guard Parrying, Air Blocking and the EX Gauge.

Street Fighter III was a commercial success, with sales of over 1.4 million copies worldwide. It was generally well-received by gaming publications and is considered by many to be one of the greatest fighting games of all time. Street Fighter III has also been ported to several home consoles and portable devices.

The game’s plot revolves around a new generation of Street Fighters, as Ryu returns from his training trip around the world to find that he must face a number of new challengers, including the mysterious Gill.
