Castlevania – Dawn Of Sorrow ROM is set in 2035, fifty years after the events of the first Castlevania game. You play as Soma Cruz, a young man who has just been thrust into a world of vampire hunters and supernatural creatures. Soma must find a way to stop Dracula’s plans and put an end to the cycle of reincarnation that has affected him and his loved ones for generations.

The first thing you’ll notice about Castlevania – Dawn Of Sorrow is the updated graphics engine. The game looks incredible on the Nintendo DS’ large screen, with detailed sprites and lush backgrounds. The game runs at a smooth framerate, even during some of the more intense battle sequences.

The audio is also top-notch, with a mix of modern rock and classic Castlevania tunes that fits the game perfectly. The voice acting is excellent across the board, with particular praise going to Patrick Seitz as Soma Cruz.

Gameplay-wise, Castlevania – Dawn Of Sorrow borrowed heavily from its predecessor, Aria Of Sorrow. The game is still a side-scrolling action platformer at heart, with some light RPG elements thrown in for good measure. You’ll explore vast areas of Dracula’s castle, using your trusty sword and magic spells to take down hordes of enemies. As you explores each area, you’ll find numerous secrets to uncover and evil bosses to vanquish.
