You control a fleet of warships as they battle one another across various strategic maps. The objective is to get your fleet of battleships to fight on land at a given port by docking your battleships there.

There are different types of ports that require varying strategies for successful docking. The more challenging the map, the harder it is for your ships to make progress through port entrances and mazes. Make use of obstacles such as reefs or rocks that can be placed on either side of the entrance to give you an edge over your opponents while helping you break through unguarded gates or patrol ships. You can win Battleship ROM by eliminating all other fleets or entering a time-limited mode and destroying every other player’s fleet before time runs out.
